Writing- setting for the Borrowers' home
This description includes many prepositional phrases and one fronted adverbial of place- can you find it?
The borrower’s house is inside a
children’s playroom, in an empty shelf, deep down hidden behind lots of bouncy
toys. The entrance is hidden behind the spotty lion, large fluffy dog and a big
bag of baby toys, which altogether is a toy gate, which is a gate made of toys.
The toy gate is very strong and bouncy,
and from the window all approaching objects can be seem, so it means it is very
safe from cats. The Borrower’s kids like to bounce on the toy gate when it safe
to go out and play.
Inside one of the rooms which is made from
cardboard, fabric and jars that is the comfortable sitting room, a small sofa
can be seen.
The sofa is very comfy, and is very
nice to touch. The sofa is made from tissue inside the fabric with a pillow
that is sewn together. It is great to play on where it is not safe to go
outside, the Borrower’s friends and family sit on it. They borrowed the fabric
from the tin full of fabric in the kitchen. To make a light they climbed up to
a drawer where they had got a jar and candle. The carpet is made of fabric.
It’s flowery and soft for the Borrower’s feet. The room is made of cardboard
with two windows and a door cut out. They borrowed some scissors to cut the
windows and door out by climbing on to the shelf and getting the small toddler
scissors. The table is made from some tin and fabric that they had gotten from
the kitchen. On top of the table is some circular fabric, which is a
tablecloth. They used the toddler scissors to use some more cardboard to make a
little plate and they got little bits of food. Inside of the sitting room there
is also a basket from a roll of tape from a box and some cardboard, which are
taped together. A stool sewn together is beside the table and in front of the
light. It is soft, cuddly and warm. A mop is beside a window behind the basket.
It is made of an ear bud that was borrowed from a cupboard from a bathroom.

Year 3 had some work to do on tenths...
