W/c 8th June 2020 - Reception

Welcome back Bumblebees, we hope you have all had a lovely weekend.

Maths:

We have received some lovely work on problem solving using halving skills.

I wonder how big this sunflower is going to grow?

A lovely example of careful addition work.

We experimented with colours and made symmetrical butterflies in school.

We have been sharing odd and even numbers of 'fruit'.

Writing :

Lots of work on letter formation and writing instructions. Don't forget your bird grip everyone!

Topic work:

In school we have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.

We have also seen some great butterfly life cycle work from children at home. Well done.

In school we have been busy:

We have played lots of games outside and had a story in a circle.

We gave the Beebot clear instructions and sent it under our bridge and over a map where it stopped at different places.

We used our counting skills playing hopscotch and skittles.

Potion making:

We collected exactly 20 items to go in our potions. We had all sorts of magic things: fairy wings, dragon scales, dinosaur bones, eyes of monsters...
